Community Outreach
The Clallam MRC engages in community outreach and education events each year. Some events return for many years in a row, while some are unique one-time opportunities to reach out to the community.

2024 Studium Generale
In December 2024, Peninsula College hosted the MRC for a Studium Generale lecture. This program includes diverse lectures intended to broaden the horizons of the students enrolled in the corresponding course. The lectures are also open for the community to attend. Tim Cochnauer led the presentation in 2024, focusing on sharing what the MRC is and does with the audience. Many MRC members and alternates attended to host a Q&A session following.
2024 River and Ocean Film Festival
The Clallam MRC partnered with the 8th River and Ocean Film Festival in 2024, returning for the first time since the pandemic. The Festival displayed a collection of short films that highlight the natural and social dimensions of the coast and coastal watersheds of the Olympic Peninsula. The Festival was brought to you by the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee, Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, the Clallam County Marine Resources Committee, Surfrider Foundation, and Washington Sea Grant. We enjoyed the films and hosted an educational table at the Port Angeles showing on July 26th, as part of the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary's 30th anniversary celebration.
